INDIA DAY PARADE 2014

The Federation of Indian Associations (FIA) of the tri-state area of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut is one of the largest esteemed umbrella organizations in the Indian Community. The Consulate General of India, New York and FIA hosted a special curtain-raiser for the 34th India Day Parade 2014 on June 13, 2014.

The event was inaugurated with the traditional lamp lighting by Consul General Dnyaneshwar M. Mulay along with Mr. Ankur Vaidya, President, FIA. Consul General Dnyaneshwar M. Mulay announcing the launch of this exciting event called it a glimpse into India's vibrant and unique culture.  Consul General Mulay also spoke about making the parade more relevant in terms of message and content and ensure better participation of Americans in it.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ramesh Patel, Chairman, FIA described the event as an attempt by FIA to express various aspects and achievements of India and its people. He also pointed out that the India Day Parade was a garland of various aspects of Indian culture.


The event concluded with cake cutting and a dance performance.
