Shri Raman Singh, Honorable Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, led a delegation of senior state government officials to New York from November 27^th - 29^th, 2016. The visit is part of the effort to boost the ‘Make in India’ initiative of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India and also to partner with potential investors and invite them to Chhattisgarh.

2. During his visit, the Chief Minister and his delegation addressed a gathering of potential investors at a roundtable luncheon business seminar organized by the Consulate General of India in association with the United States-India Business Council (USIBC). The Chief Minister briefed the participants about the Government’s efforts in inviting investments in the “sunrise sectors” of IT, Electronics, Defence, Engineering, Food Processing, Pharma, Textile and Solar energy. Shri Vivek Dhand, Chief Secretary, Government of Chhattisgarh also made a detailed presentation on the development and investment opportunities in Chhattisgarh. Around 100 persons including the media (both print and electronic) participated in the seminar, which was followed by Q&A. The delegation also held several one-one meetings during the 2 days with investors and senior executives from UST Global, Altec Industries etc.

3.During the 1^st day of his one-one meetings, the Minister and his delegation met with community leaders from the Tri-State region and with members from the Overseas Friends of BJP (OFBJP). There were also several meetings with people of Chhattisgarh origin who are interested to contribute in the development of the state. Federation of Indian Association also called on the Hon’ble CM and requested Chhattisgarh Government to participate in the India Day Parade 2017.

4. The event was managed and monitored meticulously to ensure meaningful interactions. The Consulate participated in all meetings enabling us to be able to follow-up on the decisions taken in these meetings.
