Celebrates 68th Republic of Day of India 

        Consulate General of India celebrated 68th Republic Day of India on 26th January 2017. 

        Consul General Ambassador Riva Ganguly Das unfurled the national flag in the morning in the presence of the Indian community.  It was followed by the singing of National Anthem and reading President's message to the nation by the Consul General.  Light refreshments were served to the public. A large number of people attended the flag hoisting ceremony . 

        In celebration of India's Republic Day, the honour of ringing the Closing Bell of the New York Stock Exchange was given to  Consul General Ambassador Riva Ganguly Das. A large number of CEOs and business representatives of Indian companies, members of Indian community etc. attended this unique ceremony.         

        In the evening, Consul General hosted a reception which was attended by a large number of guests comprising elected officials, prominent dignitaries,  community leaders etc. 

        Welcoming the audience on the occasion, Consul General Das spoke about India's many achievements and the significant transformation taking place in India-US bilateral relations.  State Department representative in New York also spoke on the occasion and stressed on the close and growing friendship between the old and largest democracy.
