The Consulate General of India, New York organized a Prayer Meeting at the Consulate Ballroom on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 in memory of people who lost their lives in the tragic 9/11 terrorist attack.  Besides prominent Indian community leaders and representatives from the Sikh, Christian and Hindu communities, Mr. Victor E.              Paying homage to those who sacrificed their lives in the dastardly September 11 terrorist attacks in 2001, Consul General Ambassador Dnyaneshwar Mulay, condemning all forms of terrorism afflicting the world, said that humanity should stand together to fight this evil.  He also announced India's participation in The Queen Elizabeth II September 11 Garden, an official permanent site for remembering Commonwealth nationals who lost their lives during the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, since India had lost several overseas Indians, including some Indian citizens.  Mr. Stewart, during his brief speech, thanked Ambassador Mulay for India's participation in the Queen Elizabeth II Garden.

The ceremony came to an end with the recital of religious versus in Sanskrit by Ambassador Mulay, followed by a minute's silence in memory of those who lost their precious lives in the deadly September 11 terror attacks.
