The Consulate General of India, New York celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr at the Consulate on August 13, 2013.  The event, featuring Ghazal recital by celebrated Ghazal maestro Mr. Sudhir Narain, was attended by large number of Indian American community.

Extending his warm greetings on the auspicious occasion, Ambassador Dnyaneshwar Mulay, Consul General of India, said that Eid ul-Fitr is one of the important and widely celebrated festivals all over the world which brings not only joy and happiness on the culmination of the holy month of Ramadan but also an opportunity to see ‘inward’ and retrospect ‘inner self’.  Ambassador Mulay said that the nation-wide celebration of Eid ul-Fitr in brings about communal harmony among various communities and thus strengthening national integrity. 

Shri Sudhir Narain, an accomplished Ghazal, Bhajan and semi-classical singer, enthralled the audience with his Ghazal singing. His sublime voice and the subtlety with which he presented the Ghazals aroused instant applause and admiration from the audience.

The program concluded with dinner.
