The Presidential Award of Certificate of Honour to Distinguished Scholars of Classical Oriya, Classical Kannada, Classical Telugu, Classical Malayalam and Sanskrit for the Year 2018.

The Government of India has invited recommendations/nominations for the Presidential Award of Certificate of Honour to Distinguished Scholars which will provide one International Award of Certificate of Honour to a Non-resident Indian or person of non-Indian origin with outstanding contributions in the field of Sanskrit and Two International Awards (one each for person of Indian and Non-Indian Origin) in each of the languages of Classical Oriya, Classical Kannada, Classical Telugu and Classical Malayalam. These prestigious Awards are presented by the Hon’ble President of India. Under the Scheme, a Certificate of Honour along with a one-time monetary grant of Rs. 5, 00,000/- each is awarded to Scholars of eminence over 60 years of age with outstanding contribution in the field of each of these languages.

Nominations/recommendations from distinguished scholars under the jurisdiction of this Consulate are hereby invited. It is requested that nominations/recommendations are forwarded to the Consulate in the prescribed proforma latest by April 6, 2018 at pol.newyork@mea.gov.in. Proforma can be downloaded from here .
