PRESS RELEASE

PRAMIT (Pravasi Mitra Helpline), a user-friendly e-Governance solution, was launched by the Consulate General of India, New York to strengthen the response management system Of the Consulate. Keeping in view the Government’s emphasis on deployment of digital tools and e-governance, a mobile app “CGI New York” has also been introduced for applicant’s comfort which can be easily downloaded on both Android and iOS devices.

In order to serve the public better and ensure better feedback mechanism, a new feature “Consular Application Status Check” has been added in PRAMIT portal and the Consulate’s mobile app. The status of the application is updated regularly once it is received in the Consulate from the outsource agency (VFS Global). Now applicants can check the status of their consular applications (passport, visa, OCI, etc) directly on PRAMIT (https://pramit.indiainnewyork.gov.in/) or the App.
