On Saturday, September 28th, 2024, the Consulate General of India, New York in conjunction with VFS Global & Vallabhdham Temple will organize a Consular Camp in Newington, CT. Customers will have the opportunity to have their completed applications verified and submitted in person for Passport, OCI, Renunciation, Police Clearance Certificate, Visa, and GEP applications only. The camp is exclusively open to customers who fall under the jurisdiction of the Consulate General of India, New York.

Before attending the Consular Camp, customers must complete the following steps:

1. Identify the type of service needed and check eligibility. Customers can find all the associated information by clicking on the following links for each service category:

Each application must comply with the guidelines applicable to the Consular-related category.

2. Complete the online application form on the Govt. of India website for the service they are applying for and print the form. The Passport, OCI, Renunciation, Police Clearance Certificate, Visa and GEP applications are online forms and must be completed on the Government Portal. After filling the form with correct details, customers should print and sign the hard copy of the form. To start your online application, click on the following links:

Note: After completing the form on the government portal, please make a note of your Application Reference Number (ARN), File ID, or Application ID, and then print the form. You should then return to the VFS website to proceed with the next steps to complete the application process.

3. Create a profile on the VFS website, pay fees, and generate the payment confirmation letter. Customers should collect the required documents as per the checklist. This step must be completed before booking an appointment for the Consular Camp.

Customers should follow the below steps to complete the mail-in application submission process:

Create a profile and register on the VFS portal system and click on "Apply Now" to complete the subsequent steps. If customers are part of a family or group, they will have to create an individual profile for each member of the family or group.

Download and print the checklist and incoming labels and required affidavits to be submitted. All documents must be provided to prevent delays in processing.

4. Book an appointment for the Consular Camp. Customers can click here to book an appointment.

5. Customers must bring the complete application, including printed form, supporting documents, proof of online payment or money order, Incoming courier labels, and appointment confirmation email to the camp. We’ll use incoming courier labels to send your reviewed application to the VFS Indian Consular Application Centre in New York.

6. Customers should arrive at the Consular Camp on September 28th, 2024, as per their selected appointment date and time.

After receiving the application, VFS will review it and accept the complete application in the Consular camp itself. Customers will receive application process notifications via email/SMS (if opted) from October 2nd, 2024, onwards (provided applications are received by the VFS office in Washington DC). The success of email/SMS notification delivery is dependent upon several factors beyond the control of VFS, so customers are recommended to continue tracking the application status on the VFS website and not rely solely on email/SMS notifications.
